Eric Chenaux Shares Video for "There They Were," Announces Fall Tour

The Canada-born, France-based artist will be trekking through Ontario and Quebec this fall

Back in February of this year, Eric Chenaux released Say Laura, his seventh studio album and the follow-up to 2018's Slowly Paradise. And today, the Canada-born, France-based artist has shared an Eric Cazdyn-directed video for Say Laura track "There They Were" and announced a short run of fall shows in Ontario and Quebec.

About the video — which finds Chenaux being doubled and tripled via split-screen as he dances and drinks tea — the songwriter said:

We knew we wanted to deal with the repetitive nature of the last three-quarters of the song. Once Eric set up his camera in front of where I usually play, we couldn't help but notice the big window in the frame. We then realized that I could do something outside of the studio for the first quarter of the tune.

"We knew we wanted something to happen 'out there' with the camera 'in there' and pretty quickly (there are only so many things I can do) we thought I could dance out there," he continued. "And this song has a sweet, staggered groove to dance to. Bouncy."

You can catch Chenaux's moves for yourself when he heads out on his tour of Ontario and Quebec, which kicks off at Montreal's PHI Centre on September 9 and wraps on September 16 at Guelph Jazz Festival before Chenaux heads back to Europe for another run of shows.
