Ahead of the release of his debut solo album, Radiohead's Ed O'Brien has confessed that he has been struggling with a possible coronavirus infection.

In conversation with Uproxx, O'Brien spoke about living in quarantine after exhibiting symptoms of the virus. The artist and his family have since officially turned to self-isolation in their Wales home during the pandemic.

"I've got the virus but I'm getting over it," he told the publication, adding that he hasn't seen a doctor about it "because you can't get tested here unless you're elderly."

But according to the musician, he has experienced 10 days of flu-like symptoms, in addition to recently losing his sense of smell and taste. He thinks he contracted the virus while in Paris promoting his new record.

"I Googled it last night and that's a classic symptom of the coronavirus. So, it's like, okay, I've got it," he continued.

"For someone like myself, this is just a bad dose of the flu. I'm not in any way in danger," O'Brien added optimistically. "I basically sat outside all day because the weather is glorious. It's the first sunshine we've had this spring. It's not a bad place to be."

EOB's new album Earth is set to arrive on April 17. So far, his Canadian tour dates in support of the record have not been affected by the global COVID-19 pandemic.
