Never ones to stray too far from their iconic masks, catching Daft Punk in plainclothes is a rare occurrence. For those who attended the opening of the Cannes Film Festival yesterday (May 18), one half the robotic duo was in in their midst the entire time.
As Stereogum points out, Thomas Bangalter made an appearance sans-mask at the opening ceremony yesterday alongside his wife, French actress Élodie Bouchez.
You can see him sporting some sunglasses two seats to the left of Adrian Brody in the video and photo below. Those expecting a Daft Punk tour in 2017 have been sadly mistaken, though the pair have been popping up more often than not in music videos from the Weeknd.
