Crystal Castles' Ethan Kath Files Defamation Lawsuit Against Alice Glass over Abuse Allegations

Crystal Castles' Ethan Kath has filed a defamation lawsuit against Alice Glass following her serious abuse allegations against him, according to TMZ.

The newly filed lawsuit follows Glass' newly revealed allegations against Kath last month, accusing him of years of mental, physical, emotional and sexual abuse. Kath had responded by denying her claims and calling them "pure fiction."

As TMZ reports, Kath has now said that Glass is still bitter about their breakup, adding that she is using this as a way to get attention for her newly launched solo career. As a result, Kath has said Crystal Castles have lost $300,000 in profits after cancelling their tour as a result of the allegations.

In a statement about the lawsuit to TMZ, Kath said:

Alice and I had a long ongoing relationship both personal and professional. When she suddenly left Crystal Castles to handle her mental health issues and substance abuse issues I fully supported her. I will continue to support her quest to wellness but I can't support extortion, false claims, and accusations put forth after the band attained new success without her.

False allegations take away voice from true victims and that's what saddens me most about all of this.

As of yet, Glass has not responded to the lawsuit.

As previously reported, Glass alleged in an open letter posted on her website last month that she was subjected to "almost a decade of abuse, manipulation and psychological control" by Kath, who she also accused of rape.
