Old Man Gloom's West Coast tour with Coliseum kicks off tonight (February 26) at Vancouver's Electric Owl venue, but there's just one problem: Coliseum aren't going to be there. Air traffic delays have forced the Kentucky post-hardcore trio to back out of tonight's gig.
The news came straight from Coliseum earlier today, with the band explaining over social media that they've dealt with a series of scheduling snafus with airlines over the last couple of days. Via a Facebook post, it was revealed that bassist Kayhan Vaziri and drummer Carter Wilson have had multiple flights cancelled on them, and that there is no way they can get to Vancouver on time for tonight's performance.
"We are very sorry to announce that we won't make it to the Vancouver show tonight," the band wrote. "Carter and Kayhan's flights have been cancelled two days in a row and while it seems that things are in order now to get them to Seattle in time for the show there, there's no way we will be able to make it to Vancouver tonight. Sorry everyone."
The band are expected to link up with Old Man Gloom at tomorrow's performance at Seattle's Crocodile. You'll find the rest of Coliseum's tour schedule down below. The Vancouver show goes ahead with Old Man Gloom being supported by local crushers Baptists and newly added hometown metal unit Weirding.
While tonight's performance was the only Canadian appearance on Coliseum's current itinerary, there's a good chance the outfit will make it back up North sometime soon. As revealed earlier this week, the hard-touring band just announced they have a new LP called Anxiety's Kiss coming out May 5 through Deathwish Inc.
