After recently giving fans a sliver of info regarding their next LP, Bluegrass State bangers Coliseum have now offered up the details in full. Their next collection of post-hardcore crushers is called Anxiety's Kiss, and it smooches your earholes May 5 via Deathwish Inc.
As previously reported, Coliseum recently hit the studio with producer J. Robbins (Burning Airlines, Jawbox), who had also worked with the band on their 2013 LP, Sister Faith. The new album is described in a press release as an experimental blend of "cathartic post-punk, frenetic underground rock, post-gothic ambience, and punk ethos," with vocalist/guitarist Ryan Patterson offering a "rumination on humanity, love and lust."
While Coliseum had issued a 10th anniversary edition of their self-titled LP through Deathwish Inc., Anxiety's Kiss is the group's first set of new material for the imprint. It's said to feature a few experimental moments, with "Comedown" being the first Coliseum track to not have Patterson on guitar, and "Sunlight in a Snowstorm" being an especially melodic outing apparently.
Down below, you'll discover a video for the keyboard-spiked first single "We Are the Water."
As previously reported, Coliseum are about to embark on a West Coast tour with Old Man Gloom. They play Vancouver's Electric Owl on Thursday (February 26).
