Charlotte Cornfield

"Big Volcano, Small Town" (video)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 27, 2016

It took Toronto folkster Charlotte Cornfield five years to prep a follow-up to her 2011 debut LP, Two Horses, but we're just a couple months away from the release of her Future Snowbird. Helping tease the collection is an in-studio-style music video for the album's shuffled "Big Volcano, Small Town," which is streaming now.

The clip takes a behind-the-scenes approach, with Cornfield found singing into a gated microphone about personal letdowns, a dream of San Francisco, and various nature-indebted personifications ("Let these twistin' trees be our knuckly fingers").

Elsewhere, Cornfield and her band goof around on the couch as they listen back to the mix.

You'll find the chronicled recording session below, while Future Snowbird drops March 11 through Consonant Records.

The record is being supported with some shows in March. The tour schedule can likewise be found below.
