This summer, Montreal up-and-comer Charlotte Cornfield crossed Canada in preparation of her upcoming debut LP. Now that the hype-building trek is almost complete, the folksy rocker is getting ready to release Two Horses on October 25.
A press release calls the disc a "fleshed-out, conceptual tour de force" that delves into "a complicated romance, each of the 10 songs exploring its emotional complexity and approaching the story from different angles."
The collection was recorded in a four-month session with producer Ryan Granville Martin. In addition to signing, Cornfield played guitar, drums, bass and piano on the album. She also recruited a large cast of contributors to pitch in, and they helped her to capture "an elegant juxtaposition of driving rock'n'roll numbers and heartbreaking melodies."
To promote the album, Cornfield will be hitting the road in Canada once again. Scroll past the tracklist to check out the dates. The album cut "Construction on the Street" is embedded at the bottom of the page.
