Bush Tetras

Very Very Happy

BY Liz WorthPublished Nov 26, 2007

Very Very Happy announces its arrival with "Nails,” a stripped down, slow motion rollercoaster full of shimmering grunts of guitars and breathless confessions, proving to be an immaculate introduction. This album has post-punk superstars the Bush Tetras revisiting several tracks by offering up re-recorded versions of some classics, as well as a couple of tracks that have never been commercially released before now. For both long-standing Bush Tetras fans and new initiates, Very Very Happy is a visceral, squirming compilation that perfectly captures the frantically funky grooves and deeply discordant anthems. This is the sound of writhing nightlife, urban debauchery and primitive excitement that marked this most influential post-punk act. This disc also includes videos for "Nails,” "Too Many Creeps” and "Motorhead,” which are worth scooping this disc up for alone.
