Bryan Ferry Gets Johnny Marr, Flea for 'Avonmore' LP, Shares New Single

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Sep 23, 2014

Former Roxy Music man Bryan Ferry has announced plans for a new studio album called Avonmore.

It follows 2012's The Jazz Age, which heard Ferry reworking his own classics to fit the titular time period, but the new record will mark the first original material since 2010's Olympia. Well, at least eight of the songs are originals; covers of Steven Sondheim's "Send the Clowns" and Robert Palmer's "Johnny and Mary" made the cut, as well.

Ferry also enlisted a bit of help from some impressive guests, with Todd Terje, Johnny Marr, Nile Rodgers, Flea, Ronnie Spector, Mark Knopfler and Maceo Parker all making contributions to the new album.

CORRECTION: Despite initial reports stating otherwise, Knopfler's team informs us he's in fact not on the album.

Avonmore will arrive on November 17 via BMG, and you can scroll past the full tracklisting below to hear the brand new single "Loop De Li."
