UPDATE (9/6 5:15 p.m. ET): Barker's wife Kourtney Kardashian, who is pregnant, revealed on Instagram that she had been in the hospital for fetal surgery, and that doctors were able to save the baby's life.

The fact that Barker is travelling between Europe and the US on short notice is notable given that Barker refused to fly for many years after surviving a plane crash in 2008.
