Big Wreck fans sighed a breath of relief when the Ian Thornley-fronted act reunited back in 2010, and the band have since released albums in 2012 (Albatross) and 2014 (Ghosts). Now, news of another upcoming record proves they're still going strong. Big Wreck will deliver Grace Street on February 3 through Warner Music Canada/Rounder Records.
The latest LP hears the group working with co-producer Garth Richardson, who helped them create the musical journey they want to take listeners on.
"Musically, I'm still searching for the stuff that turns me on and takes me somewhere," Thornley said in a statement. "You want to be brought to tears or have the hair on your neck stand up, and if the search for that takes you to new territory then so be it. You have to follow. It's like chasing a high, and Garth feels that just as much as we do."
Ahead of the album's arrival, the band have shared two new tracks to give fans an idea of what's in store. "Skybunk Marché" is a sprawling seven-minute instrumental, while "One Good Piece of Me" should satiate anyone with a hankering for rockin' out. The latter has been paired with a music video too, which you can take in right now.
In addition to the new tunes, the band have also revealed a slew of upcoming tour dates. The itinerary starts out west in Nanaimo, BC, on January 25, then moves east to Ontario with plenty of stops in between. After a February 25 show in Sarnia, ON, the band will head south of the border for a few dates, before continuing the trek across Canada's eastern provinces. The final show of the tour is set to take place on March 13 in Fredericton, NB.
