Big Freedia has detailed a new album. The New Orleans bounce music icon will share Central City on June 23 via her own Queen Diva Music.
The 16-track Central City features work with Lil Wayne, Kamaiyah, Ciara, Faith Evans, Boyfriend, the Soul Rebels, Kelly Price and more.
First single "Bigfoot" arrives today alongside the album, and you can let its bold brass section and lyrics of being a bag-chasing Sasquatch carry you into the weekend below.
Central City marks Big Freedia's first full-length in nine years, following 2014 studio debut Just Be Free. In the time since, she's teamed with fellow NOLA legend Mannie Fresh for mixtape The Bounce Back, and has released EPs including 3rd Ward Bounce, Big Freedia's Smokin Santa Christmas and Big Diva Energy.
Of course, Big Freedia was prominently sampled on Beyoncé's "BREAK MY SOUL," the first single from the megastar's celebrated 2022 album RENAISSANCE.
