BC's long-running Shambhala Music Festival is the latest event to postpone its 2020 edition due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Today, festival organizers revealed the event's 23rd edition has been postponed to July 2021. Shambhala was set to take place July 24 to 27 at longtime venue Salmo River Ranch.
Shambhala organizers have also announced that all 2020 tickets and lodging packages will be valid for a future date across the following three years (2021, 2022 or 2023).
"Shambhala is not only a music festival, but it's also a yearly reunion with our Farmily and a time to return home to ourselves. It's a place where we can freely express ourselves without reservations, and to lose that this year is devastating; however, your health and safety are what are most important," Shambhala founder Jimmy Bundschuh said in a statement. "It has always been about the people on the dancefloor, and we know once we are all reunited again, it will be a Shambhala to remember."
Shambhala's 2020 edition was set to feature Black Tiger Sex Machine, Bob Moses, Claptone, DJ Premier, Ekali, Marc Rebillet, Masego, Rezz, Richie Hawtin, RL Grime, Tycho, Reggie Watts and John Tejada's Wajatta, What So Not, Tiga, Channel Tres, Cut Chemist & Chali 2Na, Djrum, Leikeli47, Mungo's Hi Fi, Sinjin Hawke & Zora Jones, Skratch Bastid, Skream and many more.
