Battles Map Out World Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jul 13, 2015

Though New York art-rock ensemble Battles haven't issued an LP since 2011's Gloss Drop, fans just may get to see the act play some new tunes on their forthcoming world tour.

Today (July 13), the threesome of guitarist Ian Williams, bassist Dave Konopka and drummer John Stanier revealed that they're back in Battles mode, and have plans to hit venues across North America and Europe between August and November.

The trip begins with a handful of European festival appearances, but Battles crosses over into Canada by October, hitting Toronto's Lee's Palace on October 1. A Vancouver date is booked October 6 at the Imperial. Following a few more U.S. appearances, they take the trip back to Europe.

You'll find all of the tour info down below.

While Gloss Drop was Battles' last full-length studio effort, the trio did deliver four remix 12-inches in 2012 that were collected together as Dross Glop. They did, however, suggest back in 2014 that they had started working on their third full-length album.

The as-yet-undetailed album will be the project's second as a trio, with founding member Tyondai Braxton having left the band in 2010. Braxton issued his HIVE1 solo LP earlier in 2015.
