Hardcore brutalizers Baptists lent a hand to Vancouver producers Jesse Gander and Stuart McKillop's Rain City Recorders grand opening party last month, proceeding to flat-out fucking destroy the crowd in the process. The intimate performance had the act first weighing in with a gloomy and oppressively crunched-out run-through of their self-titled 7-inch's "Bachelor Degree Burn," but later showcased sinister, speedy performances of Bushcraft tracks "Bullets," "Betterment" and "Think Tank Breed." There's a new track to hear too, with "Wanting" offering up an unholy alliance of detuned riffery, Andrew Drury's gravelly growl and Nic Yacyshyn's on-point drum damage.
