Azealia Banks has been making lots of headlines in recent months, whether it's for her buzz-worthy tunes or her inflammatory comments about Kreayshawn and XL Recordings. Clearly, the buzz has not gone unnoticed by Universal Records, as the major label just inked a deal with the rapper.
This afternoon (January 18), Banks tweeted, "I am now officially signed to Universal Music." She was clearly elated by the news, and wrote, "God dealt me a really fucked up hand at birth. Half the shit I've been through & successfully gotten through would blow some of your minds," before adding, "God just dealt me a new hand today. I reaaaaaaaaaaallllly good hand."
She speculated that her album could be out in May or June. That's assuming that she's not too hung over, of course, since she wrote, "Wow I just wanna drink a million bottles of champagne and do a million bell kicks right now."
