Prolific director Wes Anderson has signed up for yet another film project ahead of the release of this year's Asteroid City. The filmmaker will adapt a collection of short stories, The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, which was originally written by Roald Dahl in 1977.

As per Deadline, Benedict Cumberbatch will star as the titular Sugar, alongside Dev Patel, Ben Kingsley and returning collaborator Ralph Fiennes in the as-yet-untitled flick, which has reportedly been ordered by Netflix.

UPDATE (1/12, 3:37 p.m. ET): Rupert Friend and Richard Ayoade have also signed on to star in the project [via Deadline].

In 2021, the streamer announced that it had acquired the Roald Dahl Story Company, three years after partnering with the company to adapt the British novelist's works for new children's programming.

The film will mark the second in Anderson's catalogue to be based on a Dahl property, following 2009's The Fantastic Mr. Fox. Whether the new project will also take the form of stop motion animation remains unknown, as does its release date and further details.

Anderson's most recent film was last year's The French Dispatch. Read Exclaim!'s 9/10 review of the Bill Murray-led film here
