With the fifth and final season of Stranger Things on the horizon, Millie Bobby Brown has revealed that she's glad her time on the show is coming to an end.
"When you're ready, you're like, 'All right, let's do this. Let's tackle this last senior year. Let's get out of here,'" she told Glamour in a new interview published today. "Stranger Things takes up a lot of time to film and it's preventing me from creating stories that I'm passionate about. So I'm ready to say, 'Thank you, and goodbye.'"
One such passion project is the film Enola Holmes, which she starred in back in 2020 and produced with her production company, PCMA Productions. It's through PCMA that she and her sister Paige hunt down women-led stories that they can adapt from page to screen.
She goes on to add that, although she's grateful for the platform Stranger Things has given her, being one of several breakout child stars from the series came with as many cons as it did pros.
"We're kids — we talk over each other. I was just penalized for over-talking and oversharing and being too loud," Brown said of the heavy online criticism she received during early press tours. "It's hard to hear that at 13. You're like, 'I don't want to ever talk again. I don't want to be the loud person.'"
The actor will have to wait a while longer for Stranger Things to officially come to a close, since its production is currently suspended amid the SAG-AFTRA strike.
