Can you believe it's almost August? Can you believe it's all about to slip away into a moment in time? There's nothing more in the spirit of living for the hope of it all than relishing in the late-summer new arrivals on Prime Video (and air-conditioning).
This month, recent blockbusters like Nicolas Cage's fang-baring Renfield and Jack Black's soul-baring The Super Mario Bros. Movie make their way to streaming. In terms of original content, Prime is bringing you the film adaptation of #BookTok fave Red, White & Royal Blue, a queer, intercontinental enemies-to-lovers tale on August 11, and likewise mushy whirlwind romance Beautiful Disaster starring Dylan Sprouse on August 25.
There's also The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, an original series based on Holly Ringland's best-selling novel, starring Sigourney Weaver on August 4, as well as the August 31 premiere of Hostel Daze Season 4, which follows the adventures of four friends at an engineering hostel in India.
Much like those days, content is fleeting. Much to this writer's dismay, among this month's departures are all four seasons of The O.C. — an early-2000s masterpiece featuring many iconic music moments — leaving the service on August 22. Sounds like it's time for an immediate re-watch! (Hey, do not insult Death Cab.)
