The film will not be directed by Quentin Tarantino despite petitions, instead handing control over to David Leitch. Now, we've learned of some potentially great casting news.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, producers are circling in on Michael Shannon to play the role of Cable. The Marvel character is said to be the opposite of Deadpool, possessing strong leadership skills and self-control.
In addition to Shannon, the actor shortlist for the role includes Stranger Things actor David Harbour. Kyle Chandler was previously rumoured for the role, though sources say he was never seriously considered.
