It's been nearly four years and a whole pandemic since we last saw an instalment of Charlie Brooker's Black Mirror, but that era is about to end because Netflix has just announced that the Emmy award-winning series is due to return with its sixth season — the TV version, not the real-life one — in June.
As per Netflix's synopsis, fans should "expect the unexpected." It reads: "The long-awaited return of Charlie Brooker's dark, satirical anthology series which reinvents itself with each new episode. The sixth season of Black Mirror is the most unpredictable, unclassifiable and unexpected yet." Big promises!
The cast includes Aaron Paul, Anjana Vasan, Annie Murphy, Auden Thornton, Ben Barnes, Clara Rugaard, Daniel Portman, Danny Ramirez, Himesh Patel, John Hannah, Josh Hartnett, Kate Mara, Michael Cera, Monica Dolan, Myha'la Herrold, Paapa Essiedu, Rob Delaney, Rory Culkin, Salma Hayek Pinault, Samuel Blenkin and Zazie Beetz.
Season 6 was written and created by Brooker, who executive produced alongside Jessica Rhoades, Annabel Jones and Bisha K. Ali.
