Jonah Hill was one of the notable attendees at Kanye West's wild Wyoming ye listening party, and he defended the controversial rapper during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night (July 17).

Hill explained that at the time he went to Wyoming last month, he had no idea that West was seen as a controversy-causing dude — until his sister didn't speak to him for a week after he got back because of West's MAGA hat.

Hill nevertheless defended the rapper, saying the Trump support "just felt like a bad Andy Kaufman swing and a miss."

"I don't bail on people right away," he said. "People fuck up and do stupid stuff. You shouldn't bail on everybody right away. This guy's given me so much. He's my guy."

He went on to describe the experience of the listening party as "epic" and "legendary."

Hill also said that the album was "amazing," though when Kimmel asked, "If the album wasn't amazing, would you have told him it was?" — and Hill was quick to retort, "Fuck yeah."
