Kanye West Wearing a MAGA Hat Proves That Hell Is Real and We Are in It

"We got love," though

As if Kanye West's political position wasn't already questionable enough, he's now tweeted a photo of himself wearing one of Donald Trump's "Make America Great Again" hats.

Shortly before he was forced to cancel the "Saint Pablo Tour" last year on account of his hospitalization, West expressed how he would have voted for Donald Trump in the last U.S. election. West then met with Trump not long after he was declared president-elect, going on to defend his controversial decision.

Ye's political stance was then pushed back into the spotlight earlier this week, after he allegedly told Hot 97 host Ebro Darden "I love Donald Trump" in conversation. If a signed TIME cover somehow wasn't enough, West has now shown his love for Trump by posting a photo to Twitter donning one of Donny's bright red "Make America Great Again" hats.

West posted the photo, which also features Lyor Cohen and Universal Music Group chairman Lucian Grainge, with the caption "we got love." He also thought it was important to mention that his MAGA hat was signed, posting a photo of Trump's illegible scrawl across the brim.

Trump weighed in with his approval on Twitter not long after, while West talked up the possibility of a meeting with vindictive billionaire Trump supporter Peter Thiel.

Kim Kardashian then came to West's defence and called on the media stop chalking his incessant posting up to mental health issues.

"Kanye will never run in the race of popular opinion," she wrote. "That's why I love him and respect him and in a few years when someone else says the same exact thing but they aren't labeled the way he is and you will all praise them! Kanye is years ahead of his time."

The MAGA hat photo comes after another lengthy Twitter spree from West today, in which he claimed he was the highest-paid person in footwear, poked fun at people making jokes about him being in "the sunken place," hinted at forthcoming creative projects and even mentioned his ping-pong skills.

Earlier, West had written, "You don't have to agree with trump but the mob can't make me not love him. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone. I don't agree with everything anyone does. That's what makes us individuals. And we have the right to independent thought."

He continued, "I'm all the way out the sunken place. And I'm not scared anymore. I'm not scared of the media. I'm not scared of the past and I'm optimistic about the future. This tweet is in love not fear."

What we really loved was the old Kanye, and we miss him now more than ever. It'll take a lot more than new Nas music or Kid Cudi team-ups to erase the above image from our retinas.
