It's been just over a year since Warpaint put out their excellent self-titled album, and the band are apparently itching to get some new tunes out into the world. It's possible the band have been feeling cooped up, as the latest post-punk mining track from the quartet is called "No Way Out."
While the song title is a little claustrophobic, and the chorus' "I can't find my way" rings a little hopeless, the track is otherwise spacious and free. The new single was premiered today (February 24) via BBC DJ Zane Lowe, and finds Warpaint presenting twilight-dappled six-string textures and minimalist drum machine beats before locking into an organic bass-and-drum kit groove.
Though details on a follow-up to Warpaint have yet top be revealed in full, the band said in a statement that "No Way Out" is "the first in a series of new songs being released this year." You can check it out down below.
