Rodney DeCroo Announces 'Campfires on the Moon' LP

BY Alex HudsonPublished Apr 2, 2015

It's been five years since Rodney DeCroo released a proper album of music, and now he's finally breaking his silence with a new LP entitled Campfires on the Moon, due out on April 28 through Tonic Records.

The album was cut at producer Brian Barr's Vancouver studio, with longtime friend Ida Nilsen (a.k.a. Great Aunt Ida) contributing piano and vocals and frequent collaborator Mark Haney handling double bass. A press release notes, "The arrangements are fragile — three acoustic instruments and two voices."

At the bottom of this page, sample the sound by streaming the countrified cut "Sparks in the Rain."

Also below, see DeCroo's spring tour schedule, which will find him travelling from the West Coast out to Ontario and playing 19 shows between this month and June.

Since DeCroo released his latest proper album, he has "devoted the years to therapy and healing as he stepped up to a lifelong battle with PTSD." He also released a spoken word collection called Allegheny in 2012. Those "poem songs" were subsequently adapted into a live theatre performance.
