Peaches Reveals 'Rub' LP, Announces North American Tour

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jun 23, 2015

The ever-evolving and always provocative Peaches has been keeping busy since releasing her last studio album I Feel Cream back in 2009. She put on a one-woman rendition of Jesus Christ Superstar, then released an experimental autobiographical film aptly titled Peaches Does Herself. Now, the eccentric Canadian-born electro-punk singer has unveiled plans for a new album and a book.

Titled Rub, the new record will arrive on September 25 via I U She Music/INgrooves/Fontana North

It was recorded in L.A. with Vice Cooler and features prominent guest stars like long-time collaborator Feist on the track "I Mean Something," as well as Kim Gordon on "Close Up." You can see the full 11-song tracklisting below, which also includes some delightfully named tunes like "Dick in the Air," "Sick in the Head" and "Vaginoplasty."

Before Rub arrives, though, Peaches has also released a photography book called What Else Is in the Teaches of Peaches. Through photos by Holger Talinski, it documents her creative endeavours from the last decade, including her lead role in a Berlin-staged rendition of the classic opera L'Orfeo, musical collaborations with Yoko Ono, Le Tigre, and R.E.M., and the aforementioned Jesus Christ Superstar production. It started shipping earlier this month via Akashic Books.

Finally, Peaches will be celebrating the new releases by hitting the road for some live dates this fall. The trek will include Canadian stops in Vancouver (October 6), Toronto (October 20) and Montreal (October 21).
