Lil Wayne Delays 'The Dedication 5' Mixtape

Lil Wayne promised "2 work harder" on his game this week, but he's apparently going to have to pull on those bootstraps some more, having temporarily delayed the release of his new The Dedication 5 mixtape.

The tape was due to drop earlier today (August 30), though the project did not arrive on time. A statement from Young Money has since gone on to say that Lil Wayne still has a bit of fine-tuning to do before he lets loose his latest freelease. "The release of Dedication 5 has been temporarily postponed for a short period while Wayne puts finishing touches on it — including another new song," the message reads.

It may not be that long a wait, though, as Young Money president Mack Maine tweeted this afternoon that the tape's been "[d]elayed for a few hours not days and weeks." We'll have to wait and see how this plays out, but it's still possible to start the long weekend off with some new Weezy material. Stay tuned for more info.
