Kid Cudi will reportedly continue his Man on the Moon series with a third instalment in 2015, but he confirmed in concert this week that a prelude EP to the set should drop sometime over the next three months.
While an exact arrival time wasn't given, Kid Cudi told a crowd in Texas last night (October 16) that he will announce the official due date 24 hours before it drops. The EP is intended to sate fans since his next LP won't arrive for another couple of years, with the rapper adding that it wouldn't be right to have fans waiting that long for new music. "What kind of fucking dude would I be?" he said. "It wouldn't be Cudder."
He later told the crowd that the upcoming effort has been worked on over the last several months by himself and producer Dot Da Genius, and that rapper King Chip is "definitely on there."
Cudi added, "Shit, that's all I give a fuck about. As long as I got King Chip, I'm good. It's me and King Chip."
The yet-to-be-detailed mini-release will act as a prelude to Man on the Moon 3, with Cudder noting that "it's all attached to the story" and will segue into the album proper via a "seamless connection." It also apparently takes off from the flight of the Moonman at the end of this year's Indicud LP.
