HSY

"Acid Peel" (live video)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Oct 20, 2014

There's apparently a new album on the way from Toronto noise merchants HSY, though details on the platter are few and far between. The band, however, have been treating fans to some new tunes in concert, with a surfaced video of a local performance now treating the rest of us to their upcoming 7-inch track "Acid Peel."

Shot last January at Hogtown haunt Soybomb, the live clip contains a particularly possessed performance putting on display a quick, chaotic pulse of industrial pop rock. Though steered by a steady drum machine tick, deep-sea waves of guitar and vocalist Jude's blend of disinterested moans and Beelzebub bellowing pull the arrangement apart from the seams.

You can watch the shaky live footage down below.

As previously reported, "Acid Peel" will appear on a split 7-inch with upcoming tour partners the Beverleys. It's slated to arrive in November via Buzz Records, and you can see all those dates below. At this point, though, there is no word on when we might expect a new HSY full-length.
