Grizzly Bear Set to Work on 'Veckatimest' Follow-Up

BY Alex HudsonPublished May 10, 2011

Practically every indie music fan under the sun fell in love with Grizzly Bear's 2009 album Veckatimest and its infectious lead single "Two Weeks." That's why we're excited to report that we will soon be seeing the follow-up from the beloved baroque rock crew.

Yesterday (May 9), the band posted an update on their Facebook revealing, "Towards the end of this month we head to Texas and continue writing new songs and begin recording new album!"

There's currently no more information than that, but it's reassuring to know that new Grizzly Bear material is on the way. It's safe to say that people are already getting excited: as of press time, the Facebook post has already received 1,543 "likes" and 137 comments.

In an interview with HitFix last December [via Clash], singer Ed Droste opened up about the band's plans to record, explaining, "We're really not like theme album people. It's not going to be some overarching political message. It's going to be songs of the heart."
