It's been six years since Grizzly Bear's last album, Painted Ruins, and singer-songwriter Ed Droste has announced the next phase in his career: his own private practice as an associate therapist.

Droste shared the news on Instagram, letting his supporters know that he is now a marriage and family therapist (MFT), providing virtual and in-person counselling services for adults and teenagers in Los Feliz, CA. He's operating under the supervision of psychotherapist Lauren Marimon, who holds both a license in clinical social work and a master's in social work.

"If you know anyone seeking a therapist in California, please don't hesitate to share my contact details," Droste wrote, linking to his very own therapist listing on the Psychology Today database. "Thank you all so much for your support."

Droste officially left Grizzly Bear — the project he founded in 2002 — in 2020, with the band having played what they said at the time was their final concert in Toronto with Florence + the Machine in 2018. In 2022, co-lead vocalist/songwriter Daniel Rossen released his debut solo album.
