Alexisonfire Expand Farewell Tour with Stops in Vancouver and Hamilton

BY Josiah HughesPublished Sep 17, 2012

For their 10-year anniversary, beloved Canadian post-hardcore vets Alexisonfire unveiled plans for a farewell tour. The trek quickly sold out most of its dates, but some cities will be pleased to know that the band have moved into bigger venues, as well as announced shows in two more cities.

The freshly unveiled shows include Vancouver's Pacific Coliseum on December 17 and Hamilton's Copps Coliseum on December 30. In addition, the band's shows in Sao Paulo and Calgary have been moved to slightly larger venues.

In a press release, guitarist Wade MacNeil reveals that the band intentionally chose to close out their tour in Hamilton.

"For our last show ever, we thought it would be nice to bring it closer to where we grew up," he said. "Hamilton is where George calls home, it's where I was born, and it's where we have played countless, amazing shows over the years. This show will be a celebration of the last 10 years of our music and growing up together. I can't think of a better way to end the tour."
