The Vancouver-based electro-minded indie pop outfit Young Liars recently signed a deal with the city's own Nettwerk Records, and the group aren't wasting any time in rolling out new music. In advance of an upcoming EP, the band have just unveiled the single "Colours."
The effusive track blends hyper-caffeinated vocals with jittery rhythms and sparkling synths. The summery pop mood eventually gives way to a darker, more atmospheric bridge before unexpectedly launching into funk bass breakdown and ultimately retuning to the chorus.
The single hits iTunes today (December 20), and you can stream it below. This album version will appear on the Homesick Future EP, due out February 21. Below that is a free download of a remix from Abbotsford chillwaver Teen Daze, who is quickly turning into one of the busiest remixers around.
Young Liars will reportedly issue their full-length debut sometime in 2012.
