Yoko Ono Shares "Imagine" Cover on John Lennon's Birthday

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Oct 9, 2018

October 9 marks what would have been John Lennon's 78th birthday, and the late Beatle's widow Yoko Ono has honoured the occasion with a cover of "Imagine."

"'Imagine' was the only one I was totally nervous about, because everyone in the world knows about it and I could be criticised, but I thought it was very important to do it and my nervousness must be secondary," Ono said in a statement. "John and I created a lot together and he would be very happy that I did it."

Ono's rendition of the classic track will appear as the final track on her upcoming Warzone LP, which features reimagined versions of her own songs from between 1970 and 2009. The album is due out October 19 through Chimera Music.
