Toronto post-hardcore act Worst Gift have just released their first album, a release that's incorrectly titled Shitty Loser Riffs. If you'd like to try before you buy, you can stream the whole thing in full now.
The record is made up of four tracks, though three of them hover around the seven-minute mark.
Album opener "Immoral Inventory (Life as We Blow it)" was previously issued as a stand alone digital single. It's about the missing and murdered aboriginal women of Canada, and proceeds from the single went to the Tools and Furniture Drive for Mishkeegogamang Ojibway Nation. The money helped raise funds to fill an 18-wheeler truck full of furniture and other supplies to the Mishkeegogamang community.
That song, along with three others, are available on Shitty Loser Riffs, which can be streamed in full below. The album is available now on cassette from BART Records. The album is also being pressed to vinyl as a joint release between The Ghost is Clear Records, L'Oeil du Tigre, Titan Megacorp, Zegema Beach Records and Good Post Day Records.
To celebrate the album's arrival, Worst Gift will perform a show at Toronto's Soybomb on Saturday (May 16). More information on that event is available here.
