William Shatner

"Bohemian Rhapsody" (video)

Treasured Canadian weirdo/thespian William Shatner continues to stun us with his latest single off his recently released Seeking Major Tom LP, a cover of Queen's classic "Bohemian Rhapsody." The video starts off with a couple of doe-eyed teens pondering their existence before an all-knowing Shat appears in the sky, the stars splitting to reveal his mug as he recounts Freddie Mercury's opera-rock classic in the most demented of deliveries.

The teens sit and stare at the singer's starry appearance, or perhaps those lyrics that somehow hang in the ether, as Shatner moans, weeps and mutters the familiar tragedy, ultimately harmonizing with astral salmon and centurions. Between the synth-heavy score and Shatner's ridiculous performance, it's clear the dude is having the time of his life, but it's a little uncomfortable all the same. Holy Shat, indeed.

Seeking Major Tom is out now via Cleopatra.
