New Gorillaz Music to Arrive This Weekend?

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Oct 19, 2016

Hype for a new album from Gorillaz is at a high following cryptic timelines and two stories centred on fictional guitarist Noodle and drummer Russel Hobbs. Now, it seems some new music from the group could arrive as early as this weekend by the looks of another cryptic social media post.

This afternoon (October 19), an Instagram account for Noodle posted an image of spilled ink that forms the logo of Beats 1 radio program Soulection. If that somehow wasn't enough, the caption tags both the program's account and that of host Gilles Peterson, followed by lightning bolt, music note and radio emojis.

Soulection's Beats 1 program will air on Saturday evening (October 22) from 7 to 9 p.m. PDT. As previously reported, the upcoming Gorillaz album is rumoured to feature collaborations with artists like Jean Michel-Jarre, Twilite Tone, Liam Bailey and Vic Mensa. Back in July, Damon Albarn confirmed that the LP would be arrive "fairly soon."
