Published Oct 03, 2016Gorillaz have been up to something for the last couple weeks, reliving the virtual band's musical career with photos and videos with an Instagram timeline, leading many to believe that the arrival of their next album is imminent.
Now, the Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett-led project has unveiled a new story titled The Book of Noodle. The online storybook follows Gorillaz guitarist Noodle as she disguises herself as a geisha to infiltrate the Tokyo headquarters of evil shapeshifting demon, Mazuu.
After successfully completing the difficult task of finding the trickster ("like looking for a beard at an Arcade Fire concert") and beheading him, Noodle ships herself back to London in a Fedex crate addressed to bassist Murdoc Niccals.

As previously reported, the upcoming Gorillaz album is rumoured to feature collaborations with artists like Jean Michel-Jarre, Twilite Tone, Liam Bailey and Vic Mensa. Back in July, Albarn confirmed that the LP would be arrive "fairly soon."
