White Lung Return with 'Paradise' Album, Share New Video

BY Josiah HughesPublished Feb 23, 2016

Earlier today, White Lung allowed Zane Lowe to premiere their brand new single "Hungry." If that didn't satisfy your appetite for Vancouver-bred post-punk, we've got plenty more information from the band, who have just announced their new album.

The record is called Paradise, and it marks White Lung's second full-length for Domino and fourth album overall.

It was recorded with Lars Stalfors (HEALTH, Alice Glass), and in a press release, guitarist Kenneth William said the goal was to make a contemporary album. "I wanted a record that sounded like it was made in 2016," he said.

Frontwoman Mish Barber-Way also opened up about the album in an interview with Annie Clark (a.k.a. St. Vincent) for White Lung's website.

"There's this really stupid attitude that only punks have where it's somehow uncool to become a better songwriter," Barber-Way said. "In no other musical genre are your fans going to drop you when you start progressing. That would be like parents being disappointed in their child for graduating from kindergarten to the first grade. Paradise is the best song writing we have ever done, and I expect the next record to be the same. I have no interest in staying in kindergarten."

As if that weren't enough, "Hungry" has also been treated to a new music video. The clip was directed by longtime collaborator Justin Gradin and stars Amber Tamblyn. You can watch it below.

Paradise will be available on May 6 via Domino. You can find the album's tracklisting and White Lung's upcoming tour dates below.
