"Gold" (video)

Oslo-based electro-pop unit Whales & This Lake have been gaining momentum in their home country of Norway since releasing their debut single "Sahara Blind" a couple months ago. Now, the three-piece have unveiled a follow-up track titled "Gold," which you can watch now on Exclaim!

The clip is an appropriately shiny affair, featuring dancers doused in gold body paint and glitter, grooving to the equally sparkly song. We also get a glimpse at band members Anders Søvik Hjelden, Hans Olav Settem and Max Peder Brekke, as oozing blobs of gold paint drip dramatically down their guitars, cymbals and microphone.

Visual effects toy with speed and create kaleidoscopic shots, which add some extra interest to the already highly stylized cinematography. The band are currently completing work on their album in Norway with Vancouver ex-pat and producer Digory Smallz. Before it arrives, though, watch the video premiere of "Gold" in all of its gilded glory below.
