Weston

'The Whites of Their Eyes' (EP stream)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Nov 2, 2015

Toronto-based heavy metal hedonists Weston are set to unleash their latest EP The Whites of Their Eyes today (November 2), and to mark the occasion, Exclaim! is streaming the five-song set in its entirety.

Quick to distance themselves from the bread company or '80s punk outfit of the same name, Weston set out to abolish any confusion and establish their own name on the new EP. Furious growls, frantic guitar work, foreboding basslines and crashing percussion permeate the collection of songs, which piles on the heavy-hitting sounds from start to finish.

Despite the damning doom-filled sound of their music, though, the band have a rather optimistic goal in mind. "We hope to leave positive impressions with listeners, by showing vulnerability," they said in a statement about the new material.
