Weezer returned with their White Album earlier this year, but that hasn't stopped them from working on some patriotic new material.
In anticipation of the July 4 holiday in the United States — and the coinciding Juno Mission — the band have unveiled a new track titled "I Love the USA."
It's a rather sombre, piano-driven, electro-tinged cut that hears Rivers Cuomo declaring: "Fuck yeah, I love the USA."
According to a post on Weezer's website, Apple and NASA asked the band to contribute a track to celebrate the Juno Mission, which should see an unmanned probe reach Jupiter's orbit on the very same day America celebrates its independence.
"We were on tour abroad, and it got me thinking a lot about America, which lead to me write 'I Love The USA,'" Cuomo wrote. "When Apple and NASA asked us to be involved with Juno's historic landing on July 4th, this song seemed like the perfect fit."
