The Week in Comments: Exclaim!'s Reader Feedback Roundup with Andrew W.K., Slayer and Exclaim!'s Holiday Gift Guide

This week, Exclaim! has once again rounded up feedback from some of our more expressive readers. For some of the highlights — and low points — of what what readers were talking about recently, keep on reading.

This weekend, news broke that Andrew W.K. was named Cultural Ambassador to Middle East by the U.S. Department of State, leading many of you out there to sound off. Corey Hart reacted, "That picture makes me want to smash something. Mainly his dopey, blank face." Nameless Connoisseur said, "Oo wtf? If the US state department on showing the middle east that the US is well summarized in I Get Wet then so be it. I've been saying it for years, the US is refreshingly simple and cleverly stupid hedonistic fun!"

However, it was later revealed that W.K. wouldn't be filling that role after all. Disappointed, JamTeezy said, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! The idea of Andrew WK getting diplomats puking for peace was the best thing that happened to me all weekend!"

In other news, Slayer came up with their own ugly Christmas sweater, which sold out in moments. Shay said, "Perfect Xmas gift for my brother!" while Donny Osmond said, "The fact that this is the #1 news story on this site speaks to the sort of affected, posturing tools that come here." Wab replied to the commenter, "No it speaks to the fact that there is a variety on this site, and you have shown yourself to be an elitist tool." Andre added, "The fact that it is the #1 news story attests to the fact that Slayer elfin' rules."

Also in the holiday spirit is Exclaim!'s ongoing Holiday Gift Guide, which recently featured some choice band merch. In reply to the inclusion of Grimes' notorious "pussy rings," commenter M said, "I can't find those pussy rings anywhere, dammit. Do you know where I can buy one?" Gorillaz also have Chuck Tailors out and Nate D said, "It's about damn time Gorillaz did it. I'm sure not buying them, but after all the bands that have their own shoe (3 Inches of Blood's customized Nike's currently rank number 1 in my book for .. WTF GUYS??) why not a band that appears primarily in 2D art!"
