Fans of the Wedding Present have more than nine months left to start getting excited about the English indie pop band's new album. The veteran group have just announced that their next full-length is called Going, Going…, and it will be out on September 2, 2016.
An announcement from the Wedding Present notes that the album is "collection of twenty linked tracks, each with a beautiful accompanying film." Recording took place at Liverpool's Parr Street Studios with producer Andrew Scheps (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beyoncé, Metallica). Some of the tracks aren't proper songs, but are rather connected pieces of music.
You can pre-order a copy of Going, Going… through the group's PledgeMusic campaign. The music comes with accompanying visuals, so CD or double-vinyl copies come come packaged with a DVD. The album is also available digitally.
All physical copies come signed by songwriter David Gedge, unless the buyers specify that they don't want a signature. There's also a deluxe vinyl copy of the album that comes with four acoustic cuts on a 7-inch, plus an expanded booklet.
Watch a three-minute video about the album over at PledgeMusic, and pre-order the album if you're so inclined.
This will be the Wedding Present's first album since 2012's Valentina.
