The Wedding Present Expand Classic Albums for Reissue Campaign

BY Alex HudsonPublished Aug 30, 2013

In recent years, the Wedding Present have celebrated their albums Bizarro and Seamonsters with anniversary tours, and now the British indie pop vets are taking another look back, this time with a reissue series.

The series will find the band revisiting their early work and releasing expanded versions of five past albums, plus an EP and a pair of compilations. These will be packaged with new artwork, bonus songs, DVDs (containing music videos, live clips and interviews), and various goodies from core member David Gedge's archives.

The LPs in question are: 1987's George Best (three CDs and a DVD), 1989's Bizarre (two CDs and a DVD), 1991's Seamonsters (two CDs and a DVD), 1994's Watusi (two CDs and a DVD) and 1996's Saturnalia (three CDs and a DVD).

Meanwhile, the 1996 EP Mini has been expanded to three CDs. The campaign will be rounded by two compilations: 1988's Tommy (three CDs and a DVD) and 1992-1993's two-part The Hit Parade (three CDs and a DVD).

The exact release date isn't yet clear, but FACT reports that the reissues will arrive through Edsel.

Meanwhile, the band are spending the rest of the year touring in celebration of the 21st anniversary of The Hit Parade. See their upcoming European schedule here.
