Weaves

"Help!" (Beatles cover)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Aug 17, 2016

Today (August 17) marks the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' last live show in Toronto, so it's only fitting that one of Toronto's most exciting new bands have shared their own rendition of a Fab Four classic.

Wonderfully warping "Help!" off the 1965 album of the same name into a slowed-down, funked-out spiral of blips, beats and Jasmine Burke's infectious drawl, Weaves have definitely managed to offer up a refreshing take on the old tune.

It's not the first British boy band that Weaves have covered recently; they dropped a version of One Direction's "Drag Me Down" late last year.

Weaves' self-titled debut album is currently out now on Buzz Records, and they'll be heading out on a European tour with labelmates Dilly Dally this fall. Hear them take on "Help!" in the player below.
