In their 13-year history, Winnipeg, MB indie rockers the Weakerthans have constantly demonstrated their love for their hometown in myriad ways. Lately, that love has hit critical mass with a series of home-road-loving seven-inches from John K. Samson, a live album from the city's legendary Burton Cummings Theatre and now a tour documentary called We're the Weakerthans, We're From Winnipeg.

The film was made by Canadian film icon Caelum Vatnsdal, and will make its premiere as part of Nuna, Winnipeg's upcoming "Iceland Canada Art Convergence." That event will take place at Winnipeg's Globe Theatre on May 8. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Winnipeg locales Into the Music and Kustom Kulture. If there are any left, they will be sold for $5 at the door. A trailer for the film can be seen below.

The Weakerthans also have two Canadian live appearances scheduled. They will play Toronto's Queen Elizabeth Theatre on May 26, and will also take part in the Winnipeg Folk Festival between July 7 and 11.
