It's been the better part of four years since We Are Wolves released an album, but that will change when the bilingual Montreal rock band drop La Mort Pop Club on February 26 via Dare to Care Records. Prior to the release date, you can stream the whole thing on Exclaim.ca.
Recording and mixing on La Mort Pop Club was handled by the production duo of Adrian Popovich and Joseph Donovan (Sam Roberts, the Dears) at Mountain City Studio.
According to a press release "La Mort Pop Club confirms the tight relationship the band has formed with minimalism. It flirts with fuzzy garage-punk riffs, without putting aside their usual analog experimentation and melodic constructions."
The 10 tracks are keyboard-kissed stompers, with "Moving Fast" anchored by speedy punk rhythms, "Mirror" boasting robotic overdubs and "Voices" tapping into something slightly slower and dreamier.
