Keeping with the label's prolific output, Waxwork Records has unloaded its next release. This time, it's the soundtrack to director Alex Ross Perry's horror-tinted 2015 cult favourite Queen of Earth, which stars Handmaid's Tale/Mad Men actress Elisabeth Moss.
The beautifully chilling score for film was composed by Keegan DeWitt, and here's how Waxwork describes the release:
By dissonant usage of a 1928 Steinway piano, French horns, echoing clarinets, and a Wrenchenspiel (an instrument made of tuned metal wrenches that are hit with mallets to produce a destabilized xylophone effect), DeWitt successfully creates a terrifying, slowly unraveling score that sonically seizes the descent into madness.

The Queen of Earth souundtrack can now be ordered as two different 180-gram variants: "The Lake" (green swirl with gold splatter) and "Sunset" (deep blue & pink swirl). The release comes with liner notes penned by both Alex Ross Perry and Elisabeth Moss, along with DeWitt, in a 12"x12" booklet.
